Frequently asked questions
How thick can the wall be?
The receiver locates the transmitter through non-conductive building components from 2 to 150 cm thick and displays thicknesses up to 200 cm. Concrete, brick, wood, plaster and drywall are no problem. Large metal surfaces such as sheet steel or dense reinforcement in between weaken the signal; in that case, measuring with an offset or over several points helps.
Does the Exit Point also find cables and pipes in the wall?
Yes, the transmitter has a metal detector and a voltage detector. Metal is detected up to 50 mm deep, live 230 V cables up to 150 mm. Before drilling, scan the spot with it. It does not replace a complete cable search in unknown installations; for that there is the CONDTROL Scan.
Does the measurement also work at an angle or with metal in the component?
Yes. For angled holes, hold the transmitter and receiver at the same angle to the surface; a wedge made of wood or plastic helps. If there is metal directly at the drilling point, attach the transmitter with an offset and apply the offset on the other side. For thick components, the multi-point measurement over four reference points increases accuracy.

The CONDTROL Exit Point transfers a drilling point exactly through walls, floors and ceilings. The transmitter is fixed at the desired point on one side of the component; the receiver finds the exact opposite point on the other side and also shows the component thickness. The hole hits the mark the first time, without detours via edges, tape measure and test holes.
What tasks is the Exit Point suitable for?
- Core drilling for ventilation and air conditioning
- Openings for pipes and cables
- Wall openings during renovation
- Ceiling openings between floors
Two tools, one drilling point
The transmitter is attached at the reference point with the supplied adhesive putty; the central hole marks the point. On the other side, move the receiver slowly over the surface. Red arrows show the direction and a tone rises in pitch as you get closer. When all four green LEDs light up, the receiver's central hole is exactly opposite the transmitter. The display also shows the component thickness in centimetres or inches.
Check before drilling
The transmitter detects metal up to 50 mm and live cables (230 V) up to 150 mm deep. So you can see before drilling whether reinforcement or cables are in the way.
Angled holes and thick components
For angled holes, hold transmitter and receiver at the same angle. If metal is in the way, measure with an offset; for thick components, average over several reference points.
Functions at a glance
- Locating the drilling point through components from 2 to 150 cm
- Component thickness display from 2 to 200 cm
- Metal detection up to 50 mm, cable detection up to 150 mm
- Four green LEDs, direction arrows and tone
- Measurement at an angle, with offset and as multi-point measurement
- One-button operation, display in cm or inches
Understanding accuracy
According to the manufacturer, the distance display is accurate to 1 cm for component thicknesses of 3 to 10 cm and to 10% for 11 to 200 cm. Locating the opposite point achieves 3% of the distance. Metal in the component can interfere with locating; in that case work with an offset or several reference points.
Power supply and scope of delivery
Both tools run on AAA batteries, about 12 hours of operating time.
Receiver, transmitter, 6 AAA batteries, adhesive putty for attaching the transmitter, user manual (DE, EN, FR, IT, ES), plastic case.
Warranty
2 years' warranty; one additional year after registration in accordance with the warranty terms.
