The CONDTROL Vector 600 is an optical laser rangefinder with 6x magnification for distant targets outdoors. You aim at the target through the eyepiece and read the distance inside the device. This distinguishes it from a construction distance meter for room dimensions.
Measuring range and real conditions
The stated measuring range is 5–600 m and the measuring accuracy ±1 m. The maximum range is not a promise for every target: weather, visibility, target size, surface and reflection affect the result. Small targets cannot be compared with large, highly reflective surfaces.
Pin seeker mode for small targets
For the Vector 600, the manual describes a pin seeker mode: it helps you capture a target in front of other objects in the background. Aim at the desired point and check the result by measuring again. The Vector 600 has no slope measurement mode.
Single measurement, scan and fog mode
The manual describes single measurements, continuous measurements and a fog mode. If the distance is too short or the signal insufficient, “- - - -” may appear instead of a value. Fog mode does not remove these limits. Focus the eyepiece, hold the device steady and repeat implausible measurements.
