The CONDTROL adapter screw connects a tripod with a 5/8″ thread and a measuring tool with a 1/4″ thread. It is screwed into the tripod head and provides the smaller connection on top.
What you need the adapter screw for
Construction tripods, telescopic poles and rotary lasers use the large 5/8″ thread. Many line lasers and distance meters, on the other hand, only have a 1/4″ thread. Without an adapter, the two don't fit together.
These tools have a 1/4″ thread
Cross-line lasers: Smart 2D Plus, Smart 3D Plus, Smart 4D Plus, QB, QB Green, Progressor.
Laser distance meters: Smart 60, Vector 80, Vector 100, Vector 200, XP3 Green, XP4, XP5.
Thermal imaging camera: IR-Cam 1 Pro.
These tools don't need an adapter
Models with a dual 5/8″ and 1/4″ connection can be mounted directly on both types of tripod: XLiner Pento 360G, XLiner Quattro 360G, XLiner Combo 360G, XLiner 3D, Omniliner G3D, TruSlope, Fliesen 4D, Boden 3D, NEO G200 and NEO G220.
