Frequently asked questions
What does the brushless motor do for me in everyday use?
In classic motors, the brushes are the part that wears out first. Here there are none, so there is no sparking and no abrasion at this point. The drive runs more quietly and smoothly, reaches high speed faster and lasts noticeably longer in daily use.
Can I use the Roto HVG 600 without a receiver?
Indoors, yes. Combined with the high rotation speed, the green beam can be seen with the naked eye, depending on the lighting. Outdoors and in sunshine you work with the supplied receiver, which gives you 600 m diameter.
How do I set a slope?
In manual mode you set the slope along the X and Y axes, up to ±10 %. Typical cases are driveways, ramps and drainage. The plumb points up and down remain active, so you can continue to transfer axes.

From our guides
The CONDTROL Roto HVG 600 is a green rotary laser with laser receiver. With the receiver, the working range is up to 600 m in diameter. It is suitable for height transfer and levelling work indoors and outdoors.
What work is the Roto HVG 600 suitable for?
Transfer reference heights for foundations, check the subgrade or compare heights in outdoor areas. The tool projects horizontal and vertical planes as well as plumb points. In daylight, use the receiver when the laser line is not sufficiently visible.
Key technical data
- Working range with receiver: 600 m diameter, i.e. up to 300 m from the centrally positioned laser.
- Accuracy: ±0.05 mm/m.
- Electronic self-levelling: ±5°.
- Protection rating: IP66.
- Tripod mount: 5/8 inch.
- Slope in X and Y: up to ±10%.
- Maximum speed: 1,000 rpm.
Scan mode, remote control and battery
The speed levels are 0, 300, 600 and 1,000 rpm. In scan mode you select a sector of 5°, 10°, 30° or 90° to concentrate the projection on the work area. According to the manual, the remote control has a range of up to 150 m; the usable distance depends on the conditions.
The stated operating time is 22 hours. For the battery in the rotary laser, the manual states about 7 hours to a full charge. Working while charging is permitted; use the supplied charger.
Design
The rotating head is driven by a brushless motor: no carbon brushes, no commutator wear, smoother and quieter running than classic brushed motors, designed for daily site use. The optics are rubber-protected, and the housing is dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets to IP66. At 1,000 rpm the line looks continuous to the eye rather than flickering.
Setting the gradient
The slope is set manually. Check the desired gradient using reference points. A gradient of 1% corresponds to a height difference of 1 cm per metre. It is not an angle in degrees.
Scope of delivery and additional equipment
According to the user manual: rotary laser, laser receiver, remote control, charger, laser enhancement glasses, manual and case. Tripod and levelling staff are not listed and are chosen separately. Check the right receiver mounting for your application.
Laser enhancement glasses make the line easier to see; they do not protect against laser radiation. Check the tool's accuracy after impacts or falls as described in the manual.
Accessories and manual
You will find suitable set-ups under tripods and poles. The user manual can be found in the downloads section of this product page.
Which model fits better?
If 600 m diameter is enough for your site, this model is an option. For larger areas, compare the Roto HVG 800 with 800 m diameter; for digital gradient input, the Digi Roto HVG 800 with DS-Remote. Compare rotary lasers.
